Congratulations to Stephen Musson and his fellow riders who completed the journey from John O’Groats to Lands End. The team crossed the finish on Sunday and for their efforts raised £10,395 for Stroke Association and Breast Cancer Now.

Despite being the most senior member of the Musson Liggins team, Stephen Musson is embarking on a 1,065 mile cycling event over a 10 day period from John O’Groats to Lands End, beginning on 27 July 2022.

Eight cyclists and a back-up team of five people will complete the event, travelling through most of the English National Parks en route, in support of two major charities. Four cyclists are raising funds on behalf of Breast Cancer Now, and four on behalf of the Stroke Association and it is hoped to be able to raise in excess of £5,000 for each of the charities.

The event has been 12 months in the planning and Stephen is looking more and more tired by the day as he increases his training towards the commencement of the event.

This will be the fourth time that he has completed the event and we are sure that he is asking himself what on earth possessed him to try to complete it again!

We wish him all the best in this charity endeavour and his Just Giving page can be viewed at

Musson Liggins have bought a new office building after reporting our most successful three months in more than 30 years.

In July ML moved into Brigade House in Beeston, after previously leasing premises in Clarendon Street, Nottingham.

Our new home is a restored Grade II-listed building in Albion Street, in the Beeston town centre. The 2,872 sqft, two-storey converted Victorian mill is the former home of Nottinghamshire Boys’ Brigade.

David Bladen, one of Musson Liggins’ three directors alongside Graham Parkinson and Matthew Wade, said: “The pandemic has been hard, and we really had to dig deep to keep things going.

“But thanks to the hard work of the whole team, we have bounced back over the past few months and have seen record figures. It’s quite incredible, given how devastating to our business the pandemic might have been.”

The decision to move into the Grade II-listed premises in Beeston was the result of many years of planning.

“We have always had aspirations to buy our own office and that dream is now a reality. It’s amazing really, that everything has all fallen into place so well after such a challenging year, we are very proud of what we have achieved.”

Huge congratulations to Jack Farrell MRICS who last week passed his APC and is now a fully qualified Chartered Surveyor!

Jack has worked extremely hard to become qualified and will continue to be a valued part of the Musson Liggins team.

Well done Jack!

When somebody dies, one of the most important things an Executor needs to do is find out what the Deceased’s assets are worth. When an Executor deals with HMRC the asset values should be as accurate as possible.

A valuation for the purposes of grant of Probate is required to be carried out in accordance with in Section 160 of the Inheritance Tax Act 1984.

At Musson Liggins we aim to provide a simple, swift and reasonably priced service at what is a difficult time.

At Musson Liggins, we have a wealth of experience in providing valuations for Pension Schemes. Our aim is to make the process easy for everyone involved.

This may be an update valuation or a valuation to assist with the purchase or sale of a property in/out of a Pension Scheme (this is usually a requirement).

We also provide a Rent Review and Lease Renewal service whereby we can negotiate the terms on behalf of the Pension Scheme and produce a formal report for the Trustees.
